3' x 5' Betsy Ross 1776 American Flag
The first American flag was created for general George Washington by Betsy Ross in Late June of 1776, just weeks before the British colonies declared their independence as the United States of America. This flag was comprised of 13 stripes of red and white, white symbolizing courage and red symbolizing blood shed as well as 13 stars in a circular pattern. The 13 stars and stripes represents the original 13 colonies of America. As America added states to the union the number of stars grew but the number of stripes stayed to forever symbolize the original 13 colonies. This is a 3' x 5' replica flag that was designed after the original Betsy Ross 1776 flag; the first true American flag.
